Privacy Policy

The short version: Presto is built so there's nothing to collect. Your audio and transcripts are processed and stored on your Mac, the app has no accounts and no analytics, and this website sets no cookies. This page exists to spell out the few narrow moments where any data moves at all.

The app

• Your voice and your text never leave your Mac. Speech recognition runs on your Mac's Neural Engine, and text cleanup and Interpreter rewrites use Apple's on-device models. Nothing you say or dictate is sent to us or anyone else.
• History stays local. Transcripts and recordings live in your Mac's Application Support folder, under your control. Audio auto-deletes on the schedule you pick in Settings; deleting the app's folder deletes everything.
• No telemetry, no analytics, no account. We genuinely have no idea how you use Presto, and that's the design.
• Ordinary web requests the app does make: on first launch it downloads the speech-recognition model (from Hugging Face's CDN), and once auto-updates ship, it will periodically check for updates. Like any download, these requests expose your IP address to the server involved, but they carry no personal data, no identifiers, and nothing about your dictation.
• License checks are offline. Your license key is verified on your Mac using cryptography, and stored in your macOS Keychain. The app never phones home, including for licensing.

When you buy Presto

Checkout is handled by Paddle, our merchant of record, under Paddle's privacy policy. We never see your card details. From a completed order we receive your email address and order reference, which we use only to generate your license key and provide support.

When you contact us

If you email support@trypresto.app or join our launch list, we have your email address and use it only for that purpose. Unsubscribe or ask us to delete it any time.

This website

It's a static site: no cookies, no trackers, no analytics scripts. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, page requested) to run the service, as all hosts do.

Your rights

Since almost everything lives on your own Mac, you already hold your data. For the little we do have (support emails, order info), email us and we'll show it to you or delete it. We never sell or share personal information.
